- TriviaIncludes the Christmas segment that was not filmed in front of a live audience.
- GoofsLucy is wearing an old-fashioned hoop-skirt, with frilly leggings underneath that are held up by a fabric belt tied in front. She and Ethel are performing their audition act for Ricky at his nightclub. During one turn in their dance, when her back is to us, Lucy clearly looks down to find, and untie, the belt that's keeping her leggings up. As she continues to dance, they fall to the floor, as if spontaneously and by surprise.

Lucy Panties
Camp Ma-Ho-Ge 1966 My age group was involved in a play which was to be preformed in front of the rest of the campers. I didn't have a speaking part and was relegated to the chorus. On one of the musical numbers I had an itchy instep on my left foot. We were in the middle of rehearsing a song when I constantly knelt downward toward my foot to scratch. I scratched repeatedly during the second verse of a song as the director noticed my actions. He ran toward me and pulled me off stage and took off my sneaker and threw it to the back of the auditorium. How embarrassing. I went back on stage minus on sneaker. In her first stages of her pregnancy Lucy Ricardo rummages through her closet to find an outfit for a gay 90's audition. With the help of her best friend Ethel Mertz (Vivian Vance). Lucy finds a hoop skirt and matching pantaloons while Ethel plays the male part striped blazer and straw hat in the song and dance act. Later at the Tropicana where Lucy's husband Ricki played by her real spouse Desi Arnaz is seeking auditions for a gay nineties revue. With full orchestra in the background Ricki calls out Pepito the clown as he does his miniature bike routine. Then the next act follows. McGillicuddy and Mertz are announced as Ricki has that look of displeasure. Ethel and Lucy appear in full costume with a graceful curtsies by the hooped laden Lucy as they sing the first chorus of By The Light Of The Silvery Moon. Then the choreography part as Lucy and Ethel do a soft shoe as Lucy bounces up and down until her undies drop to the stage floor. Lucy's reaction is to bend over but alertly Ethel blocks the view from the boys in the band as the makeshift duo swiftly drags their feet and exit in humiliation. This was the first time I found Lucy attractive despite watching all the previous episodes. Lucy showed her sex appeal in this episode and you wonder if she was naked under that skirt during her wannabee acting attempt. For those who are not familiar with I Love Lucy, the premise of this show is that Hubby Ricki is a Cuban Bandleader/ singer and plays his conga drum. Lucy his red haired scatterbrained Wife always scheming in a good-humored way about money and mostly breaking into show business against the wishes of her husband. This sit-com was ground breaking . The first time TV used an ethnic lead , Cuban born Desi Arnaz. Three camera format was used for the first time in front of a live studio audience. The show set high ratings across America in the 1950's so much so that water supplies would fluctuate during commercials. I Love Lucy gained the highest popularity among-st other shows including a speech by President Eisenhower. During one of his State Of The Union addresses Lucy Out rated the President by a wide margin. All in all vintage Lucy episode.
