Tricky
xredgarnetx26 August 2006
In a tricky episode similar to Season One's finale, Chase's "Mistake" may very well cost him his license, House his license, and turn the hospital into condo city. Chase has misdiagnosed a patient's condition, which proves fatal. Now a massive lawsuit looms. Stacy coaches Chase as to what he should tell his board of review. The episode is mostly told in a series of flashbacks and Rashomon-style narratives, and even has a supremely existential moment when Stacy enters House's flashback and House in the present crosses paths with House in the past. The narrative literally begins to curve through time at this point. Definitely worth a look. The Aussie who plays the pretty boy Chase is often underused. Not this time.

One of The Most underrated episodes from House!
Shmaden20 December 2018
This was for me a truly gem of an episode. From start to finish I was hooked on and enjoyed basically everything from this episode. After the opening credits rolled and I saw "Six Months Later" I knew I was in for something special. It's astonishing to see that here on imdb this episode is very underrated although from a story perspective is one of the best episodes I've seen from House. It has a very intricate story that reveals more as the episode goes along and it pays off in the end. The performances were also great and the way it was filmed at times made it both funny and very interesting. This kind of episodes reminded me of the style of LOST episodes and how those were made (very cleverly by the way) by slowly revealing everything to the audience so that in the end the pay off was great and satisfying. Also by the end of this episodes there will be consequences, and I like that they broke the episodic and they are making a continuing story out of the events of this episode. Overall an extremely great episode that confirms once again that season 2 starts on fire compared to season 1.

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

Warning: Spoilers
This was an interestingly shot episode, as the entire thing was presented in flashback vignettes, which were repeatedly edited and re-told like the layers of an onion, until the truth was revealed.

Chase makes a relatively minor mistake, that turns into a fatal error after a series of events leave a mother of two, dead. This is brilliantly tied into Chase learning of his father's death, giving him extenuating circumstances for his misjudgment. This was a wonderful callback to the episode he appeared in earlier in the season.

However, as all of this is revealed, we also see the interpersonal relationships that have been simmering all season begin to produce results, including learning Foreman's real opinion of Chase. During the end scene in front of a peer review board, we learn the biggest twist of the episode, which is that House is viewed as a neglectful mentor and therefore, must be supervised for several months...and that supervisor will be Foreman.

I feel like going forward, there will be an excellent opportunity for us to see who Foreman really is, or whether power corrupts. Also, seeing how House handles being a subordinate and give Omar Epps an opportunity to shine. I just hope such spotlights are given to each team member in their turn, otherwise, I'd think it was just a device to answer the first question and intensify the already uncomfortable relationship the two men have already.

Chase is being mistreated again
errepinna3 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of those episode that decides to break off the regular format and I love it. As other reviews point out, it is constructed through flashbacks.

My personal high point for this episode is the finale. When House looks at Foreman, finding out he's going to be his supervisor, and just smiles at him. I love the dynamic between House and Foreman.

What I never liked is how the show started mistreating Chase since around half-season one.

The mistake Chase made was relatively small and made the right call by simply recalling the patient only one hour after the mistake was made in the first place.

What didn't work out is how he dealt with it during this episode. If he came forward from the very first moment, he would have never been sued in the first place. Why is he consistently idiotic I just can't understand. He deserves better.
