Det. Meldrick Lewis fondly remembers growing up in a one bedroom, there, and his early conquests. Fast forward 25 years and it is the area now known as Pleasant View Gardens. One resident said the same problems remain decades later.
"I live in the PVG, Pleasant View Gardens, the old Lafayette projects, and it's been nothing but crime all up and down. She told mayoral candidates she is anxious and nervous just walking down the street.
"I have to carry a stun gun I have to carry pepper spray because they are targeting women out here and the kids, my son is 10 and he is scared. I have to drive him to school in the morning because of where we live," she said.

This episode is a bit of a misnomer,in that even though the whole cast is listed in the episode but,to the best of my reckoning, this show is almost ENTIRELY following Lewis and Kellerman. They're sent to investigate the murder of a reclusive, paranoid survivalist(is there really any other?)at an outskirts motel off the highway. As they do so,they bump into an eclectic mix of patrons and regulars, all of whom seem to be either unknowing or unwilling to help. The great majority of the action takes places overnight during a warm, spring night highlighted by a full moon. Given that there is a general belief that people tend to act stranger during a full moon, this just fits into the whole gist of this investigation. Much more "talk" than "rock",this, along with "The Hat" is another of the much too few episodes where dets Lewis(Clark Johnson)and Kellerman(Reed Diamond)get to play off each other. A nice, odd departure from the more linear trajectory this show would steadily wend into in this(the fourth)and upcoming seasons.
