Colonel Hauptmann is a decorated German flier who has had enough of Hitler's reign and now is working with the Allies and providing valuable information. However, his secretary is a Gestapo agent and has recorded several telephone calls that incriminates the Colonel. The Gestapo has arrested Hauptmann and will hold a Court martial within a few days.
Hogan is now trying to get Hauptmann out of Germany but it looks like it will be impossible since the trial is approaching. And with Burkhalter serving as the prosecution and poor Klink serving as defense, a firing squad is already picking their ammo.
You would think that as we approach the end of the final season that the show would be lacking in appeal. But this episode is as entertaining and fresh as when the series was at the top. The action is interesting and the comedy is classic. One of the better lines, that was written for the show, comes in this episode. When Hochstetter says about Klink, 'a man who could have been great except he wasn't very good' - That is comedy at its best.
