This plays like a poor man's version of The Player. An acidic satire on Hollywood and a desire for fame it ends up being largely funny but all a bit to pat and obvious. The twist ending-while nailing the tragicomic tone of the film-is not hidden enough by the director; I am not even entirely sure why the choice that gave the game away was made. I would have preferred the twist to be cheated. In any case this fine way to waste an hour.
