Some hilarious one liners here.

'I never had PMS, but I did have a BMW. '

Blanche is behaving very erratically, initially believing she is pregnant, only to learn that she's starting to go through the change.

Having loved series one, and getting through it very rapidly, I was keen to move on, good to see series two start off with a funny episode.

Some of this is hilarious, Rose comes out with some extraordinarily funny one liners, Sophia of course gets some of the best lines. An erratic Blanche is super funny, it's very much her story, and as always Rue is magical.

The mink element, tasteless and against most people's values now, but it was made back in 1986, attitudes towards the fur trade were very different. I understand the ladies all disliked the idea of the story, but if course it ended well.

8/10.

End of the Curse (#2.1)

Warning: Spoilers
Blanche is late on her period and has pregnancy symptoms but she finds out that she is going through menopause. She is devastated because she thinks her life is over and even a trip to a psychologist doesn't help. but her friends and the hot vet make her feel better. They also think of making a mink business but the animals sold to them are too old to breed.

The episode is a bit too outdated to enjoy. I can't like people who want to make money on animal cruelty and they never even make regret of it. At least I am glad they lost their money. And I liked Rose that she at least wanted to keep them at the end. And the fact that they were gay was funny as well.

The issue of menopause is a good to address in this show, they did it fine.

Strange episode for a cast of animal lovers.

Warning: Spoilers
The cast of "Golden Girls" was known for its animal rights activism. No article about Betty White is complete without mentioning her love for animals, and Bea Arthur had that also as one of her major charities. To open the episode with conversations about mink breeding sets it up to be scrutinized even though the focus of the episode is Blanche's belief that she is pregnant and the later discovery that she is going through menopause. There are many funny lines, but it would have been a better episode had there not been the mink breeding subplot. Of course, there's the bonding between the four ladies which makes it touching as well as a very funny exchange between Betty and Bea over aphrodesiacs and later their discussion of PMS. This deserves to have been more discussed between the cast and writers even though there's supposedly a metaphor between the large, expensive mistake and Blanche's crisis.

Just remember that Spanish flies wear a little sombrero...and with all the animals in heaven, you better hope that they have boots.
