The bloom is off the Rose.
mark.waltz15 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
When one of Rose's new roommates confuses her as "Stephanie's mother", it was a view into Betty White when she recurred as Stephanie's mother on "The Bold & the Beautiful" nearly 20 years later. She is recovering from a heart attack where she claims that she briefly died, and her new life trying to get the most out of every moment makes the other woman's live's a bit crazy. This causes Rose to move out. It's Betty White at her best, showing that the life she had with the other women was a dream in comparison to the living situation with the two women she moved in with. It also showed how difficult it is to maintain a life that is too busy and out of control.

Wing dead is life changing.
Sleepin_Dragon11 April 2023
Rose ends up in hospital after burning herself out, she claims to have died, and been given a second chance, a chance that changer her outlook, she wants to eat life.

Some pretty funny moments here, and I don't just mean the script, Rue McClanahan chuckling away whilst Rose is ill in bed is a joy, you can see she's struggling to keep a straight face. The script itself, maybe not a classic, but it does provide some amusing moments and funny one liners.

The humour is tinged with sadness, that is always such a winning formula, poor Rose, she learns that the grass is seldom greener on the other side. It shows exactly how futile a feeling pride can be, what a useless emotion. The ending is a really sweet moment.

Rose sports another hideous jumper.

7/10.

We're Just Roommates Not Friends
trosevear3 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Just a meh episode all around. But the most cringey scenes are when Rose moves into the new condo with two complete and utter b****es that are inexplicably rude and mean to Rose. I get that roommates have their own lives and don't necessarily have to be BFFs with one another. But I would also think that most normal and sane people would at least want an amiable and cordial relationship with the people with whom they live. Stephanie, snapping at Rose with her "Your name is Rose, I think I can handle that," followed by her leaving the room while Rose is speaking; and the later scene when Liz shows up, and at first she seems a bit more tolerable, but then scolds Rose with her, "We're just roommates, not friends" line. Yeesh. Why would anyone put up with a living situation like that. I get that the writers were attempting to hammer home the point of how good Rose really has it living with Dorothy, Blanche & Sophia, but this was a bit too much.

Before and After (#2.15)
ComedyFan201015 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Rose has to be taken in the hospital where she passes out, after she tells her friends that she died and went to heaven and now that she is back she will live life to the fullest. And she does, but Dorothy and Blanche don't approve of her having fun. So she moves out but it doesn't go well for either of them.

Well I was totally on Rose's side here. Nothing that she did seemed to be so horrible. It seems the other two were just jealous that she had fun. And Blanche was a hypocrite as always. So I am a bit sad they made it look as if Rose's life enjoyment was wrong.

But it had funny moments. Especially Rose's description of heaven experience, announcing how she will eat life and Blanche saying that Rose will be fine cause her doctor is a Jew!
