Fran, who owns the title to the Dragonfly Inn, says she has an angina. When Lorelei and Sookie quip about her life expectancy, Lorelei says she forgot to look up angina but Sookie says she had and it is not a big deal. Angina is chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscles. It is not usually life threatening, but it's a warning sign that you could be at risk of a heart attack or stroke. At Fran's advanced age, it can be pretty serious.
The property used for the Dragonfly Inn was the Walton's family home in The Waltons.
Norma Michaels, who plays Mrs. Lanahan, was 77 years old at the time of production. This makes her the oldest actor to appear in any episode of The Gilmore Girls. Furthermore, Linda Porter], who plays Fran Westin, the lady who owns the Inn Lorelai wants to buy, was only 64 years old. This is interesting since Lorelai makes a big deal about Fran's advanced age.
Richard Gilmore is away in Akron, Ohio in this episode. Elizabeth Franz, who plays Mia, was born in Akron.
