First episode to a wonderful series! Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Richard, Luke, & Sookie will become characters that you love, hate, or a little of both.

Warning: Spoilers
btw:it only contains spoilers if you haven't seen it yet...

when i first saw the pilot episode, it was when i finally bought season one on DVD. because i had seen several seasons and had followed the show closely for years, it was quite confusing. see, all the sets are different from the rest of the episodes. this has a simple explanation. when they first shot the episode, they shot it in canada, in a small town, which is why none of the sets are the same. after shooting the pilot, they quickly moved to the WB studios in LA where they have been ever since. The William's Hardware sign was actually a fluke they had to incorporate into the show, as they used an old hardware store as Luke's Diner in the pilot, and couldn't remove the sign. for a series opener, back in 2000, i believe it was a pretty good one. It showed a lot about each character, pulled up the background on Lorelai and her parents and her having rory at sixteen, it introduced Luke, who would soon become known for his massive crush on Lorelai, very quickly and well, showing that he cared for them very much, and it introduced Lorelai's strong will, showing how she was now a manager of an Inn, and how she would do anything for her daughter, including begging her parents for money for rory's schooling.

A nice opening

A nice opening. I did not read about the series so It was good to see everything clear in an episode.

mother - daughter. Mother is addicted to coffee, probably not to use drugs anymore. Mother lorelai's family is not so good. We see rory's best friend and that small town.

It was good that rory did not reject the school for a person. She can meet person again in fact.

Their old school mates did not like her. New school wont like her too. She is not so warm maybe.

The Beginning...

I really love the Series Premiere of Gilmore Girls. It gives you all of the information you need, without giving too much of the show away. It doesn't spoil anything, or let you know how the show will play out, which is good, because some Series Premieres do.

I love Gilmore Girls so much and I didn't see it until about 2006, so going back and seeing all of the outdated/retro stuff just fascinated me. I was so intrigued about the storyline, because as far as I know, there aren't any similar shows out there. Not even now, fourteen years later.

Wow, I can't believe this show started fourteen years ago and finished seven years ago. Wow, time flies when something amazing is happening.

In this episode, we meet Lorelei and Rory Gilmore. Mother and daughter. We find out basic facts about their lives, like Lorelie's job and best friend, Rory's school and her best friend. That Rory is very intelligent and will be attending a private school. That Emily and Richard Gilmore are very rich, somewhat rude people. Only because they pretty much blackmail Lorelei into having dinner with them every Friday night. The least they could've done is chosen a different night. Do they not know that Friday night are going out nights. Why not Tuesday or Wednesday? Nobody does anything on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. We meet Luke who owns the diner, and we see that Rory doesn't want to change schools, all because of a new boy she met. Come on, Rory. Don't sacrifice your future just for a little crush.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.
