Lorelai's pizza bday
littleminx-110432 December 2023
A pretty decent episode of a great show.

High points were everyone coming together for lorelais birthday and the excitement and reaction displayed by Richard and Emily when they find out about Rory's decision on which college to attend (the double hug was so cute!). Jess's grooming and Luke's comment about a bird flying into his hair was also a high point. Along with kirks predicament regarding cheese burns.

Low points were Luke's girlfriend Nicole (I understand they needed to include her for plot extension, but meh). I also didn't enjoy the night manager Tobin. Glad he was a passing phase....

Warning: Spoilers
Rory is busy planning a big party for Lorelai's birthday. Richard gives Lorelai a large sum of money which she uses to pay her parents back for Chilton and it makes Emily furious. Luke hides Jess' car. Rory tells her grandparents that she will be attending Yale and they're thrilled. Michel is fiercely jealous of the night manager, Tobin.

Paying Back the Debt
cool-cat-212 October 2022
During this rather frustrating episode, Lorelei's father presents her with a cheque for $75,000, which she gives to her mother saying she has paid back all of the money she owed. However, it was clearly stated in the first season that the fees for attendance at Chilton were $50,000 per year. Over three years that equals $150,000 which is twice the amount.

This kind of detail missed and forgotten by the script writers is annoying, and it's not the first time. When Richard and Emily were disapproving of their daughter's plans to take Rory on a backpacing holiday, again, it had shown in an earlier episode that both parents were supportive.

Also Jackson's fiery rants are becoming old!

Jess lying and being rude to Luke is getting really stale. I'd like to see him turn over a new leaf so we can understand why Rory broke up with Dean to be with Jess,
