The One Where Rory Gets Ready For College...
taylorkingston31 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It's so good. But I have to say, I hate Emily in this episode. She's such a selfish bitch.

In this episode, Rory and Lorelai come home from Europe, a bit later than expected. And they realize that Rory only has two days to get ready for Yale, not a week and a half, like she originally thought. She has so much to do. She has to get all of her toiletries, a mattress, stationary, etc. And when Taylor chooses her, without asking, I might add, to be the Ice Cream Queen of his new candy store, she has to decline because she doesn't have enough time to do. This makes Taylor very mad. How rude? Of Taylor, I mean. Lorelai finds out that she never has to go to Friday night dinner ever again, because Rory's deal, was just for Rory, she is very happy. When Rory shows up without her mother, Emily is super mad. And keeps Rory there all night. Lorelai rushes over when she finds out that Emily won't let Rory leave, and yells at her mother. Just like she should. Just because you're mad, don't be a bitch, Emily. They have a big fight, Lorelai saying how it's her last night with her child, and Emily saying that she'll never see Lorelai again. Lorelai shouldn't have to go to dinner with her parents every week. That's too much. Eventually, they make up, which I don't think they should've. Lorelai was completely in the right.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.

A new beginning

Warning: Spoilers
Lorelai and Rory get back from their backpacking trip to Europe. Sookie announces that she's having a boy! Rory realizes that she is supposed to start school a lot earlier than she originally thought. Emily "kidnaps" Rory but Lorelai comes to the rescue. Lorelai finds out that Luke married Nicole over the summer on a cruise ship but that they are also getting divorced.

Gilmore Girls jumps the shark
studioAT29 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know what happened between S3 and 4 of this show, but the tone seemed to change, it became soapy.

I agree with the previous reviewer, Emily was more unlikable that usual, but lots of the characters over the break seem to have gained new unfavourable traits.

Taylor was very annoying, the Gilmore Girls themselves seemed to think that everything they did was quirky and that's not how I liked them being portrayed, or how they were previously.

The biggest victim is poor Luke, whose quicky marriage/divorce seemed very out of character and a jump the shark moment.

Unfortunately for me the show had changed after this, and would never quite be the same again.
