Fry meets his twentieth century girl friend
Tweekums3 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After Fry and Bender take the ship for a spin, dragging the Planet Express building with them, they are fired along with Leela; she is fired for leaving the keys where they could find them! Needing jobs Leela reinstalls their old career chips but due to a mix up Fry ends up working at the cryogenic storage facility and Leela ends up delivering pizza. When he opens one of the tubes Fry has quite a surprise; it contains his old girlfriend Michelle. Unlike Fry she finds it impossible to adjust to life in the year 3000 so suggests they both freeze themselves again. When the tube opens they find themselves in what appears to be a post-apocalyptic wasteland run by feral children... when they learn the truth it is worse than they imagined... they are in LA!

This isn't a classic episode but it does contain a good number of laughs; I particularly liked Bender's misused of the probulator! Fry's ex girlfriend Michelle wasn't a great character but then I'm sure we are meant to dislike her; after all she wants to take Fry away from his friends and treats him like dirt. The 'future' scenes were pretty funny; especially on first viewing when it looks as if he really might be in the year 4000; obviously the series requires it that he is still in the year 3000 and that gives us a great gag at the expense of LA.

The One With Fry's Frozen Girlfriend...

Warning: Spoilers
I really love this episode. It's funny and I love seeing someone else from Fry's era.

In this episode, Fry is reunited with his old girlfriend from the 20th Century, who was frozen just like he was. Unfortunately, she doesn't adapt to the 31st Century as well as Fry did. She's scared and confused. Who wouldn't be? Well, expect for Fry, that is. Since she doesn't like this time, she convinces Fry to put her back into the cryogenic chamber and to come with him. Yeah, because if the 31st Century was too much for her to handle, the 40th Century or the 90th Century will be a lot easier to get used to. They awaken in a barren wasteland and have to survive in the new cruel world to make a place for themselves. But at the end, a big twist happens that no one would see coming.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Freaking Ridonkulous.

Fry deserves better

Warning: Spoilers
I really hate Michelle. She's always so demanding towards Fry, and is always insulting him. It's a good thing Michelle never returned to the series and that Fry ended up with Leela.
