Introducing Morbo and Wernstrom
Tweekums2 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
When Professor Farnsworth attends the prestigious scientific symposium he fully expects his death clock invention to be a triumph; until his greatest rival Professor Wernstrom comments that Farnsworth had presented that the previous year. Needing something quickly he designs the 'Smelloscope'; a device for smelling astronomical objects. Unfortunately the assembled scientists are unimpressed. Once back at the lab he sets about constructing it only to discover he has already made one! While trying it out Fry discovers a truly foul odour. I turns out that it is a giant ball of 20th Century garbage that got blasted into space and now it is returning on a trajectory that will destroy New New York! This presents the team with an opportunity to show that the professor isn't passed it.

This was a fun episode which introduced some new characters; Wernstrom who was the Professor's student a hundred years before until he is given an A- and vowed revenge; and Morbo the alien news reader with a low opinion of humanity. These are pretty entertaining characters although of the two I find Morbo far more amusing; largely because although he only has a small role it is one that enables everything he says to be funny. The story was entertaining too; giving plenty of opportunities for laughs without seeming silly.

The One With The Giant Ball Of Garbage...
taylorkingston7 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It's so funny. It's good because it makes me think about what the future of our planet will be like. Will we really need to send a giant ball of garbage into space. I mean, our landfills and dumps are already being filled. And they can't just keep making landfills and dumps, unless you want less housing. Wow, that went really environmental. I just mean it's interesting to think about.

In this episode, Professor Farnsworth discovers that a giant ball of garbage that Earth had shot into space years ago, is headed back to Earth. Which will act as a giant meteor. So, Fry, Leela and Bender are the only ones who can stop the smelly ball of destruction.

First appearance of: Professor Wernstrom.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Freaking Ridonkulous.
