The Lawn mower did it
mitchrmp22 February 2014
It's Valentine's Day and D. J. has gotten the sweater she'd been asking for ever since after Christmas. But she doesn't give it the treatment it deserved, and she laid it down on the grass at school where it got ran over by the lawn mower. She was afraid about telling her father what happened, so went to buy a new one. But it was too much. Stephanie in the innocence of a child thought she was doing the right thing when she saw a "buy now, pay later" sign. She didn't know she was shop lifting! Though that sounds bad, it only gets worse the next day when they try to return the sweater...

Meanwhile, the romance between Jesse and Becky is really warming up. Jesse wants them to be exclusive, and though Becky thinks they are moving to fast, the end to their Valentine's night with a slow kiss doesn't say the same thing. From this point forward, Jesse and Becky are exclusive. Yeah! I really do like Becky!

The One With The Ripped Up Sweater

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. I think it is so funny. So basically what happens is that Danny, Jesse and Joey give DJ, Stephanie and Michelle Valentine's presents. DJ gets an expensive sweater, Stephanie gets a gold heart locket, and Michelle gets a sweater as well, but she was more interested in the wrapping and the box than the actual present. Jesse makes a joke that next year they should just get her wrapping, because she was so happy with it. DJ was so excited to get her royal blue sweater. Jesse, Joey and Danny actually tricked her into thinking she was only getting royal blue socks. Then they gave her, her real present, the royal blue sweater. DJ wears her sweater to school one day, and Danny says specifically to be careful with it. When DJ gets home she confides with Stephanie and tells her that she went to play soccer with her friends and she left her sweater on the grass. But unfortunately it got run over by a lawnmower. Stephanie and DJ get Joey to take them to the store, and they tried to replace it. But they don't have enough money. Stephanie accidentally thought that "buy now, pay later" meant that she could take the sweater and come back and pay for it when she had enough money. So Stephanie took the sweater and the alarm went off. The woman who works for the store thought that the grown women going out of the store at the same time stole something, so they didn't think that the girls had stolen anything. When they get home DJ makes Stephanie tell Danny that she took it. I give this episode 8 out of 10.

Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw this episode, it gave some perspective on stealing. Years later, I can laugh harder at it while still seeing how a child can misunderstand.

DJ has been eyeing a royal blue sweater since Christmas. Now that its Valentine's Day, she gets it. That day at school, DJ takes if off during a soccer game at recess so it wouldn't get all sweaty which leads to the lawnmower destroying it. She feels terrible. So her, Kimmy, and Stephanie raise some money to replace it. But the sweater is $80. Stephanie sees the sign that says "Buy Now, Pay Later." As a 6-year-old she thinks she can take it and pay for it when she gets enough money. Shoplifter!! I highly doubt that many kids her age knew what the sign meant or the concept of "credit." DJ explains it to Steph and eventually come clean to their family.

Meanwhile, Jesse and Rebecca have a Valentine's Date at the Tanner house. The set up has been done, but this is just as good as the others. Jesse gets. rid of his little black book and minor chaos ensues.

This episode is funny and heartfelt. Good stuff to learn from. Kudos for thinking outside the box!
