- Narrator: [Opening Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble sitting with a woman at a roadhouse table] Lake City, New York - a roadhouse outside of town. Music, a few drinks, and sometimes a momentary escape into a private world for just two people. For Richard Kimble, escape is always momentary, and two people are one too many in a private world already crowded with pursuers.
- Narrator: [Closing Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble, walking alongside a highway, trying to hitch a ride] Another place - another memory to follow him - another escape through the night. Always the way of a Fugitive.
- Laurel Harper: You let me make a fool out of myself and all you can say is something about being I'm sorry.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Laurel, there are reasons.
- Laurel Harper: What reasons?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: I'm sorry, it just won't work.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: There's some things I want to tell you but I don't think this is the place.
- Laurel Harper: Well, it was good enough for a brush-off.
- Sheriff Todd Collison: [Speaking to Kimble as they're searching the woods for Laurel] Kind of a lovers lane spot. A lot of young couples find their way out here.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: I'm not that young any more.
- Sheriff Todd Collison: A woman in town saw Laurel driving her car about 12:30 but she couldn't make out who was with her. Too bad you didn't call for a taxi. Witnesses come in handy sometimes.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: I have one. My night clerk can prove what time I got back to the hotel.
- [pause]
- Dr. Richard Kimble: And I have another.
- Sheriff Todd Collison: Who's that?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Laurel.
