When Chandler tells Rachel to "shut up; you're not my mom," Joey has both hands on the bottom of the Chinese food carton. In the next shot his right hand is on top of the box.
When they have to call for roadside assistance and Phoebe asks Rachel what route they are on, she says she doesn't know because she always sleeps on the way up to the cabin. If Rachel doesn't know how to get to the cabin, then how are they getting to the cabin? However, it's possible Rachel knew the way by landmarks, such as taking the first exit after they leave the city, the second exit after entering Vermont, etc. and gave these instructions to Phoebe, not to mention highway signs that point to which routes to take to a destination, such as Vermont itself. It was also common the days before GPS to stop at gas stations for directions.
When they are all hanging at Ross's place, he says that the weekend which is coming will be the first one he is going to be alone by himself. However, in the opening scene, Chandler says that it's been a week since Ross and Rachel broke up.
Phoebe calls AAA to pick them up, but no one knew where they were, so AAA couldn't send a car. But somehow Ross was able to find them just fine. However, Phoebe wasn't sure which highway they took and asked if AAA someone could send someone down two highways to check all the rest stops. Ross, after dating Rachel for a year, probably knew the general if not the specific location of her sister's cabin, and would have known which highway they would have taken and likely enough known how far away they were based on how many hours they had been gone. Unlike AAA, Ross was willing to check every rest stop on the way.
The rest stop is a set on a soundstage, which means you cant have cars driving any sort of distance or high speed. It is obvious at the end of the episode that when the cab drives away with everyone in it except Ross, that the cab is stationary and the camera is panning along the side of it to give the appearance of the cab pulling away.
When Rachel decides to leave the Taxi at the rest stop, Phoebe yells for her not to shut the door because they would be locked out of the vehicle. When she slams the door shut you see the rear driver-side door still cracked open.
When the Friends roll out leaving Ross having trouble starting the car, he uses the horn to try and attract attention.
In the next scene, Ross is relaying to Carol that he had to replace the car battery.
If this was the case that the battery was at fault, the horn would not have sounded so constantly. The problem with starting the car seems more to do with Ross running out of gas himself. (this is possibly an error between the comedic thought of someone ferrying gas to a stranded car then running out themselves; and the script for the final scene being disconnected from the scene written earlier)

At the end of the scene where Ross buys the group gas at the rest stop, as the shot moves out on Ross leaning against Carol's car you can see the cameraman (and his camera) to the left of the screen. [Widescreen HD version only]
