Homeboy, Sweet Homeboy (#1.5)

Will is homesick so his friend Ice Tray comes for a visit. Him and Hillary fall for each other and this upsets Phil and Vivian. Which in return hurts Will's feelings.

A nice episode. First of all there are a lot of laughs when Ice Tray arrives and gets introduced to the Banks. It is also great to see Don Cheadle pretty much at the beginning of his career.

But besides the fun part I loved the conversation Will and his aunt are having. We can totally understand why she doesn't want him with Hillary but it is also very clear why Will feels hurt because he sees himself as being the same and therefore not good enough for the Banks. Very sweet and well written

Will is clearly missing Philadelphia so the family bought him Los Angeles's version of Philadelphia cheesesteaks.

Will says there is no grease stain on the bag. Aunt Viv suggests flying a friend over and Will excitedly says he will invite Ice Tray.

Ice Tray comes in and we find out more about him. He is good at jumping fences, he is in the tenth grade for the third time.

When Will leaves the room, Ice Tray is left alone until the eldest daughter comes in looking beautiful with her hair up and a dark dress on. They stare at one another and then run up to each other, making out. Aunt Viv comes in and sees the scene. Will crosses his arms and nods his head with approval.

Aunt Viv and Uncle Phil decide on a plan. They will accept Ice Tray so he will lose his appeal of being the bad boy.

The family goes out to eat. The eldest daughter wears a floral colourful dress and hat.

Later the daughter comes back with a tattoo and when asked of its location, Ice Tray says don't worry no one will see it anyways.
