In this episode, Pauley Perrette (unrecognizable to "NCIS" viewers) is credited as "Waitress" and has several lines of dialogue. Earlier this season in the episode entitled "The Impossible Dream" (1996), she plays the same waitress but is credited as Rebecca, even though her name is never mentioned in the episode and even though she has just one line of dialogue.
The Alexander Pope quote that Frasier uses is from his "Prologue to Mr. Addison's Tragedy of Cato":
"To wake the soul by tender strokes of art,
To raise the genius, and to mend the heart..."
This episode--originally broadcast as a single episode--is shown in two parts for streaming, particularly on Netflix. If counted as two episodes, this would throw off the episode count for The 1000th Show (1997), showing it as the 101st episode, while the producers considerate it the 100th episode.
The Scene 2 title card, "Hat Trick," refers to a hockey player's scoring three goals in a single game (ergo, Frasier's three dates in a single episode).
When the episode is divided into two parts for repeat broadcasts, the very same scene plays during the closing credits of each broadcast part.
