While Niles is often a pretentious buffoon, his wife is worse (even though we've never seen her). In this episode, he believes she has gone missing. The police investigate. It seems she has only gone on an extravagant shopping trip without telling him. He confronts her and she asks for a divorce. This leads to some pretty funny, but sort of pathetic, stuff.
