There are a number of celebrity callers in this episode. Billy Barty plays Chris, who takes revenge on a neighbor by shoving a pound of rotten shrimp into the man's air conditioner. Joan Allen is Lydia, who is being tormented by obscene phone calls. Eric Idle plays Chuck, a man who takes revenge on an enemy by sending him 100 scorpions in a FedEx parcel. Jerry Orbach is Mitch: he takes revenge on an offending neighbor by smashing the man's offending leaf blower against a tree. Jane Pauley, Rochelle, takes revenge on her neighbor for failing to curb her dogs by setting the woman's lawn on fire. While Katarina Witt, playing Brenda, starts to tell Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) about a dispute with her sister, but puts him on hold to answer her other line.
When Niles enters Frasier's apartment after Frasier has thrown a man out of Cafe Nervosa, he says to Frasier, "There he is--the man who floats like a lepidoptera and stings like a hymenoptera!" This is a reference to boxer Muhammad Ali's famous quote, "I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee!"
When Harvey sits down at the table Frasier and Niles were waiting for and starts sipping his coffee, Frasier says to him, "You don't have any manners, do you?" Harvey responds by lifting his pinky as he sips.
When Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) is in the video shop trying to rent a movie, the second video on the list is "Give Tawly," appearing directly below "Get Shorty (1995)."
