The scene title card, "Kugel, Fras and Allen" is a nod to the old TV show, "Kukla, Fran and Ollie."
When Frasier is at the shiva of Martin's doctor, he actually teared up when speaking to the doctor's widow when trying to come up with a plausible explanation for why the doctor passed with no discernible reason (healthwise) for it. This may have been his reaction while reflecting on the inexplicable tragedies in his own life: his father was murdered in 1968, his sister was raped and murdered in 1975 and two half-brothers died in a scuba-diving accident in 1980.
John Ritter, a famous actor died almost the exact same way. In good shape and not known to drink, smoke or do drugs, had an aortic dissection and died suddenly around age 51.
When discussing the doctor's death at the radio station, Roz said Frasier was 41. In reality, Kelsey Grammer was 38 at the time. (Frasier is revealed to have been born in 1952, three years before Grammer in real life)
The title is a play on words of the film, "Death Becomes Her" (1992).
