Sex & Nudity

  • A man kisses his wife goodbye.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is struck over the head by a falling moose-head several times
  • A man hits another man over the head with his fist
  • A man is accidentally hit over the head with a frying pan
  • A man describes an ingrown toenail as "burrowing its way down to the bone" and "machete-ing its way through the nerve."
  • One man threatens "I'll get a hammer and hit you on the head with it." Later as he hammers a nail he wishes that it was his wife's toenail he was striking.
  • A man tells the hotel patrons that he should let them all burn.
  • A man catches fire and is affected by smoke inhalation. However another man covers his mouth to keep him quiet.
  • One man draws back his arm to punch another man but passes out before he throws the punch.

Profanity

  • Two uses of "nigger".
  • Use of "Wog" as well.
  • (The dialog containing the above has been removed by the BBC in some recent releases of the episode to avoid offence).
  • 'Bastard' is used once. 'Bloody' is used five times.
  • One religious exclamation -- "Oh Buddha!"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One character anxiously awaits the time for the bar to be open, although stressing (unconvincingly) that he is in no immediate hurry. The hotel owner calls him a "drunken old sod". Later when the same man is confused the owner opines "He started early". A little later he is seen walking around carrying a glass of sherry.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A German woman is reduced to tears by insensitive references to WWII.
  • A character expresses his anger at Germans, using racial slurs. He also directs similar slurs at Indians and West Indians but not with the same level of vehemence. Another character later uses a similar racial slur at the Germans.
  • A man has several accidents in fast succession - a moosehead falls on his head, he trips over and falls heavily and a glass vase is dropped on his head. The scene is more humourous than frightening though
  • A man becomes increasingly manic as things go wrong around him. He yells, insults people, gestures violently etc. Later, suffering from concussion, his behaviour becomes even more erratic. He does Hitler impressions and goose-steps around the room. A doctor attempts to sedate him but he flees.
