Mr French's old flame visits him in New York, and we are once again graced with the presence of Ida Lupino. The horse racing stuff was completely disposable. Mr French decides to propose to Maudie, and she informs him that she plans to marry someone else. What a turnaround from Maudie's first appearance in the series. Mr French deserved better, anyway. This episode suffers from a lack of Cissy!! Cissy does appear in two scenes, wearing a couple of much appreciated mini skirts. This is what stayed with me after the episode ended. I was, again, underwhelmed by the great Ida Lupino. Getting back to my favorite character, Kathy Garver could always catch my eye, but there was more than that. Kathy gave various "levels" to "Cissy." This was usually done with sublety, which was refreshing. In this episode, giving less screen time to Cissy, in favor of Maudie, wasn't the right way to go.

French's old girlfriend Maudie now Lady Marchwood, comes into town for the International Cup Horse Race and visits the family.
An unnecessary sequel to "Maudie" from last season. Ida Lupino returns as Maudie. The episode is slow moving until we find out French wants to propose to Maudie. This is the opposite of the last episode where she proposed to him. A good twist at the end.
