By far the most upsetting episode of the entire show
TheLastDon8118 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is my absolute favourite sitcom of all time but this is one episode that I have a really hard time watching. Not because it's bad or anything, it's actually a good episode but I can't help her put myself in the situation and I find myself getting really upset over all of it. If anything I feel really bad for Gianni. I don't know if someone would do this or not but what Deborah does to Ray and Gianni makes me really upset. Obviously it's just a show so I'm not that upset LOL. But usually if I've BingeWatch the entire series this will be the only episode I skip. I love Deborah's character but this kind of makes me dislike her a bit. Yes yes I know it's just a shell LOL still my favourite show ever.

This episode, thanks to Debra, gives wives a bad name. Debra is completely selfish and never should have been invited on this company paid trip if she couldn't follow the plan like the other wives. They were excited just for the free weekend of shopping and getting away from it all Not Diva Debra. After getting invited, due to Rays guilt, she then goes on to prove why he was right to not have asked her in the first place.

Warning: Spoilers
There are some funny parts in this episode. That being said, sometimes I cant watch it. I love everybody loves Raymond and I usually cannot find anything negative to say about any of them. I love this episode too, except for one part and that is when Raymond TEARS UP THE TICKETS! Why would Anyone tear up Superbowl tickets? Seriously! It pains me to see that. Otherwise, great show as usual.

This episode makes me cringe & very uncomfortable!

Warning: Spoilers
I ADORE Patricia Heaton, the actress and humanitarian, so this is in no way an attack on the actress...and most of the time I really like Debra Barone... goodness knows she puts up with a lot. But, sometimes and I'm not saying all the time, but SOMETIMES, I DETEST Debra Barone. And THIS is one of those times. She, in this episode, is everything she claims Marie is: intrusive, selfish, childish, difficult, over-bearing, rude and absolutely and completely AWFUL!!! She treats Ray, in front of his best friend, his colleagues and his colleagues' wives, terribly. She should be ashamed, but instead Ray rewards her awful behavior by letting her, ultimately, get her way. The reason is doesn't like Marie is because she acts JUST like Marie!! A good actress makes you believe their part... trust me I feel it!! Which is why Patricia Heaton is a great actress!

Not Remotely Funny

Warning: Spoilers
This episode has issues from the beginning. If Ray had half a brain, (which I realize he actually doesn't) he would have asked Debra in the beginning if she wanted to go to the Super Bowl with him. It's just what he would do if he really did care about her. Or at least he would have taken some time to think about it, instead of just asking Gianni because he happened to be in the kitchen when he got the call. So then he has Debra come, just to save face with all of the guys who did bring their wives; again, not because he actually cares anything about Debra. I don't blame her for being upset, although in true Debra fashion she overdoes it. But Ray ripping up the tickets doesn't prove he cares about her either, it just proves he's really incredibly stupid. As others have said, this episode is extremely cringeworthy.

Love this show, hate this episode
puzgolac22 October 2023
I love this show, but I hate this episode. It is not funny at all. As another reviewer said, it doesn't feel like a sitcom at all, but rather like a bad soap opera. The situations that the characters find themselves in during this episode are not funny, they are just uncomfortable to watch. Debra's passive aggressive and manipulative behavior, Ray's hysterics... there is nothing funny there, although they tried to forcefully make it so. The laughs during the episode feel completely out of place. Why would you laugh at someone acting obnoxiously to their partner, or someone having a meltdown? Adding to that, they again crammed in, for no reason at all, the stupidest and most overused "joke" in this series - it seems that in every episode of this show someone has to tell someone else their breath or feet smell bad. Wow, truly a pinnacle of comedic writing. And it even funnier the thousandth time.

Unpleasant and uncomfortable to watch, that is what this episode is.

Not comedy. Closer to a soap opera. A rubbish soap opera at that.

Raymond's character is normally annoying and whiney but not this episode. In this episode he has a best friend, is decisive and later he is totally over the top hysterical. Completely out of character. At least the whiney machinations provide a few laughs.

Deborah's character is eye rolling at times, but this episode she is just downright unlikeable. Sulky, unreasonable and pathetic.

The story line, acting and directing was an experiment gone very wrong.

Almost as if a total stranger submitted a script and they ran with it.

When we watch this series again, this episode will be skipped.
