- Robert gets gored in the rear by a bull and has to stay with Marie and Frank for a while.
- Ray feels tremendous guilt when he cancels plans with Robert, who then gets hurt in the line of duty, when he should have been hanging out with his brother. At first, it's all laughs and snide remarks from Ray when he finds out the cause of Robert's job-related injury, but after some prodding from Debra, Ray decides to show Robert just how much he really cares for him.
- In order to go Go-Karting with friends, Ray lies to Robert about having to work. They were supposed to be watching a game together. Robert was very excited and was looking forward to ordering pizza for the evening. He has also ordered a side salad and wings. Ray says that he has to go into work as the janitor spilled coffee on the computer's motherboard and now all his columns are gone. Ray refuses to consider Debra's suggestion to take Robert go-Karting with him and his friends.
Later that night, Frank interrupts Debra and Ray in bed and tells them that Robert is in the hospital, and they all rush over. Robert had decided to work an extra shift with the police and gets gored by a bull while trying to shut down an illegal rodeo in Queens. The people had set it up in a vacant parking lot, with animals, rides and music. Judy (Sherri Shepherd) and Robert were sent in to shut it down and the organizers scattered seeing the police. Some of the animals were spotted running down Queens Boulevard.
Robert went after the horses and gets tired as the horses were too fast. The bull was tied to a telephone pole and broke loose. The bull went after Judy, but Robert yelled at it and distracted him. That's when the bull charged Robert and gored him from behind. Robert was injured in his upper thigh area. Ray makes fun of Robert as "you got gored by a bull in the ass".
Ray also finds out that Robert took that extra shift only because Ray told him he had to work (while actually he was out go-carting)
Amy comes by to meet Robert at the hospital as Ray brought her. But Robert feels humiliated in his state. He is on a soft diet and needs seepage pads to control the puss coming out of his wounds. Amy says that Robert is famous and even the animal rights people sent him a card for the humane way in which he stopped the bull. Because of his injury he has to move back in with his parents. The guilt drives Ray to confess to Robert. Robert won't let Ray off that easy as Robert thinks Ray is just looking to offload his guilt. Robert says that Ray is saying all this now as he wants to make himself feel better.
Debra still pushes Ray to spend time with Robert and show that he cares for him. Debra is convinced that Robert doesn't know that Ray cares about him, as Ray never said it. Ray says that it is implied between men and never said explicitly. Ray goes to visit Robert as he is staying in Ray's old room in Marie's house. Ray apologizes to Robert for what happened to him and says that he really cares for him.
Robert wants Ray to change his bandages if he really wants to show that he cares. Ray changes the puss filled bandages and gets a look at how big the injury actually was, for the first time. Robert forgives him.
