In Fusion (2002) it was implied that the ancient Vulcan technique of the mind meld had only been recently rediscovered by a small group, and that the general population - including T'Pol - had never even heard of it. Just a year later in "Stigma," it is revealed that the mind meld has already been well known for some time, as the subject of an ongoing society-wide controversy.
It is stated that T'Pol did not agree to her mind meld in Fusion (2002), which led to her disease. This untrue, she was initially happy to take part in the mind meld, she stopped the mind meld when she found it too overwhelming.
T'pol did not give informed consent to the mind meld. She was not fully aware of what it entailed or what would happen. When she chose not to continue, the other Vulcan refused to stop and forced her to continue. Despite her repeated strong requests to end the intimate encounter. It was a violent act and only ended with great effort on her part. Therefore she did not "agree" to what happened to her and in most cultures it would be regarded as a non-consensual encounter.
In the CG shot of the Interspecies Medical Exchange venue, just before the two Vulcan scientists are shown entering the room with Dr. Phlox, there is another figure walking on the walkway one level down. When that figure passes a big device positioned against the wall, their shadow continues to go across the "ground," instead of trailing over the device.
