We had a drought in California, at the time...

...and the feds came in to inspect our showers, to make sure the building manager had replaced NORMAL spouting shower heads for the torture ones that hit your face, head and body like a thousand needles per second. You needed to stand under the shower for quadruple the time, to make sure the shampoo was completely off your hair and the soap off your skin, which completely defeated the purpose of those, and you had to stand there 4 times longer and ended up using more water for half the job. They also would put in bricks in your toilet tank, to make sure you flushed less water... the result of course, being that you ended flushing 3-4 times until it all was gone.

So when I watched the scene where Ellen completely empties one of those 20 gallon (or however many) bottles onto her kitchen floor, for laughs, I was livid. I just pressed play on this episode and the scene comes first. Needless to say, it brought me back to that Los Angeles hell, and felt the same. I had to pause the video to review that part and I'm giving it 5 stars out of 10 because I have no idea what comes next but that scene always angered me. How dare you waste water, the most precious commodity on Earth!? This sitcom's 1st season was the best, Arye Gross was the best and I still laugh but really, that scene Ellen? Shades of what's to come way too soon. Just for that, I want to go eat a pastrami and bacon sandwich inches from her face, so she can breathe in what wafts.
