Sticks and Stones (#5.17)

Warning: Spoilers
An episode with a lot of different incidents. The story of Carter's ride along is very well done. A good story and the ending of it was very fitting.

The story about the wrestler who is the big star in the hospital is also pretty good. One can't help but sympathize with him. And him opening the door with his head was just epic.

The story of Mobalage and his wife is taking some interesting turns, I hope it will end soon and well. I already can't stand watching them in this emotional pain, so good it is done.

And Carol is pregnant! Does it mean she will ;eave the show now too as this may be a big factor for her to go to Doug, they have been trying it for such a long time.

ER Starting to Show Its Age
bkkaz14 March 2023
You can tell ER's writers are starting to run out of things to do and say. This is the third or fourth episode that uses the White Savior trope with a group of "foreign" Asian people, whose culture is so perniciously weird the keep a cancer diagnose from a grandmother. And it's up to the white character to put her cape on and fly in to see things right. Meanwhile, Carter goes through the usual growing pains of an extended puberty while Carol finds she's knocked up. There's some stuff about a professional wrestler that's okay but goes on a bit too long. When he bashes a hole in a door with his head, it's just one of those TV moments that makes no sense. I mean, like there aren't a bunch of other objects around -- you know, like a fire extinguisher -- that couldn't have done the same thing. The fact that Kerry just stands there and let's that happen instead of barking like the little yappy dog she is underscores how eye rolling that scene is.
