Into That Good Night (#1.5)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode feels a bit slower than the previous ones, but is still a great episode of a drama show.

The most special case of this episode is a man dying of a heart failure. They can't get him a heart transplant and he thinks about his life and regrets not spending much time with his family. This goes parallel with Dr. Greene not wanting to move to another hospital now that his wife found a job two hours away. A nice combination of stories that make one see the feelings of the doctor. Also the scene of the man seeing his family is very intense. A good acting overall by him.

Besides that we have other special moments here, such as Dr. Ross treating an asthmatic girl whose mom can't afford medications and helping them out. And one also gets to laugh a bit with Ivan being shot again and Dr. Carter having some STD scares. Although I must say I didn't completely get what is going on with that girl he hooked up with. Is she after an older doctor now? Well, guess I will see soon.

Under Pressure
slak96u1 April 2023
Dr. Greene (Anthony Edwards) struggles to cope with the death of a young patient, while also dealing with a difficult case involving a hit-and-run accident victim who is also a fugitive from the law.

Meanwhile, nurse Hathaway (Julianna Margulies) tries to comfort a teenage mother who is considering giving up her baby for adoption, and Dr. Ross (George Clooney) treats a young boy with a mysterious illness that may be related to his mother's drug use.

As the doctors and nurses of County General Hospital work to save their patients, they also grapple with their own personal and professional challenges. The episode is a poignant exploration of the complex emotions and difficult decisions that arise in the high-pressure world of emergency medicine.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode has a very intense, emotional story line - a man who is dying of heat failure and won't last the night if he doesn't get a heart. the suspense builds as his family is flying in to say goodbye before he dies.

This is the beginning of the end for Dr. Greene's marriage. Greene's internal struggle between his work and family life is portrayed realistically and (at least in the beginning of the story-line) you feel sympathy for both Greene and his wife.

There is more excellent character development of both Dr. Benton and Dr. Ross. You start to see there is much more to them then what is on the surface.
