I usually don't like Christmas episodes. But this one has something special, as well as two long overdue rants. First, Lucy taking a stand for her patient. In front of the big bad Romano, no less. And Carter, shaming that thug, exactly the way he deserved. Which redeemed his character at the same time. The kid's death was very risky, but necessary. And showed the show didn't fear the backlash, of politically incorrect storylines. Season 6 is a bore. The premiere is ok, but the rest, until that episode. Is so so and not really worth getting into, but also introduced great characters like Luka, Cleo Finch and Abby Lockhart. A lot of fans see them as poor man's Doug Ross, Del Amico and Hathaway, respectively. But I always thought they had more compelling personalities and backstories. Season 6 may be dull, but it shows how the series worked best, with this new ensemble cast. Clooney's absence is unnoticeable, and this also showed he just wasn't good enough for TV. Jeanie's departure however, was clearly writers way of showing, they had nothing else for her to suffer through anymore. And Mark and Corday's romance, make sense in a very unexpected and strange way. I just love to hate Carla, and what she put Peter and Reece through, at that point. Can't wait for the Valentine episode...

How the Finch Stole Christmas (#6.9)

A Christmas episode. Not one of my favorite ones as most episodes are pretty boring and unrealistic.
Starting with that young alcoholic one. He doesn't even fit into a realistic description of an alcoholic at that age and I didn't like how they were trying to show his mother in a bad light, her son is not a toddler, she should be able to have fun on Christmas.
Carol with her babies was a pretty useless part of the episode. The point was to just keep her on the show? Carter's story was useless as well.
The thing with the killer is also obnoxiously unrealistic and annoying.
Guess the only story that somehow was interesting was Lucy trying to save her patient who needed a heart.
