Episode date of release, Friday, May 11th, 1979, was Uncle, Jesse Duke, actor,
Denver Pyle's 59th birthday.
The bank robbers are disguised as Laurel and Hardy.
Arte Johnson, who played Irving (the crook who was opposed to the disguises), had previously starred in Love at First Bite (a movie about Dracula) and Bud and Lou (a biographical movie about Bud Abbott and Lou Costello). The crooks were disguised as Dracula and the Wolfman in their previous robbery, and it was suggested that they were going to be Abbott and Costello the next time.
This is the only episode in which we see Uncle Jesse wearing glasses.
When Wendel (Oliver) shoves Cooter with his stomach, he's using the same gag Oliver Hardy used in a few of his early solo silent films.
