  Craig : What are you doing?

  [Dr. Manning starts hitting Craig with the notebook and knocks everything around] 

  Albert Manning : Are you looking for something? I work my ass off for you.

  [throws Craig on the floor and starts kicking him] 

  Albert Manning : What do I get? What do I get in return? I get rudeness. I get lies. I get this!

  [throws a chair at him before leaving the room; Craig is crying on the floor next to his broken camera] 

• Albert Manning : Craig-er!

  Craig : Hey, Dad.

  Albert Manning : What happened at 6:00?

  Craig : I know, uh, I'm sorry. It's just, the light outside. Light summer, incredible, and I just uh...

  Albert Manning : Got distracted and missed dinner?

  Craig : Yeah uh, Dad, I'm sorry.

  Albert Manning : [loses his temper, slams his plate towards next to Craig, Craig looks in fright]  When I say 6:00, I don't care how great the light is. You're home, do you understand me? Just clean it up.

  [Slams door] 

• Albert Manning : Hey, sport, you ready to eat? Craig?

  Craig : Uh yeah, uh, I'm just coming.

  [Takes his stepfamily pictures off the clips, and keeps the picture of his father's house hung up] 

  Craig : Wow, roast beef, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding.

  Albert Manning : Your favorite!

  Craig : Yeah, totally, I love roast beef. Remember how mom used to make them?

  Albert Manning : [stares at Craig in silence and then continues cutting the beef]  So, how was the first day? Make any friends?

  Craig : Yeah, one guy, Sean, he's cool.

  Albert Manning : That's great. Listen, there was a message on the machine today.

  Craig : From me?

  Albert Manning : No, for me. Joey Jeremiah. Any thoughts? Any idea why he might be calling? You didn't call him?

  Craig : Dad, come on, why would I call Joey?

  Albert Manning : Why would your mother leave a surgeon for a youth car salesman, Craig? I mean uh, mysteries of the universe are infinite to me.

  Craig : What? I didn't call, I promise.

  [Albert thinks Craig's lying] 

  Craig : I'm not--- I'm not like Mom, okay? So uh, you gonna call him back?

  Albert Manning : Now, why would I do that?

  [Craig has no answer]
