The Net meets The Dead Zone

Warning: Spoilers
I'm new to posting on databases and I'm not sure how much plot discussion is considered spoiler and how much spoiling is too much spoiling so I'm just going to spoil vaguely and check the spoilbox to keep things safe. There just needs to be someone giving props to my favorite show on IMDb, so here I go beginning with this episode as I embark on watching every show from the 3rd season starting now. So, this was a fun 42 minutes of a cat and mouse plot. Johnny meets some people who are similar yet different to him and their interactions come together nicely. Of course, seeing that the girl who plays Bonnie Gibson is also in an almost-porn flick makes her good acting more enjoyable and hot to watch. The conspiracy thesis plausibility of this episode doesn't seem possible really, but maybe in 20 years, who knows. The episode entertained and had me gripped, wanting more. Maybe these characters will show up again. Unfortunately, us DZ fans are getting used to new characters that grace us with their stories once, never to show up again. But I am used to that now and therefore found enjoyment from "Total Awareness."

Another Prescient Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Long before Edward Snowden revealed the existence of PRISM, the NSA's mass data collection operation, this episode of the Dead Zone postulated a similar program of total government surveillance. In 2004 total surveillance was in its infancy and was looked upon as an intolerable intrusion into personal privacy. Today, most people have accepted surveillance cameras everywhere and have come to believe that such a surveillance state is natural and necessary. This episode of the Dead Zone was a voice of dissent and it is remarkable to see how much privacy people have been willing to surrender for the nebulous guarantee of security. Watch this with a jaundiced eye.
