One of those episodes that showed how bad season 4 was.

What an awful friendship the main trio has. It's all about lies disguised as selflessness... Joey lying to Dawson, then acting like she's doing him a favor, when she finally tells him the truth. Dawson thinking his grand gesture would make him look like the bigger person. And Pacey... whining, being insecure and jealous of everyone around him. It used to be one of my favorite episodes this season, mainly for Jen's storyline. Trying to explain Drew through it, however, was not the best of move... And the soundtrack (Semisonic, Marcy Playground and Eels!?...). But I don't even have the latter to rely on anymore... Now it's just more Dawson, Joey, Pacey drama. And even though I appreciate how down to earth the writing is, about the issues regarding college admissions. I can't help but cringe at Joey, lying about it at first, once again. And at the though of Mr. Brooks « knowing » how Dawson plans on spending his heritage... It's a good thing writers didn't follow through with it, though. Which begs the question, what is the point of that episode anyway?...
