Jim Davis: Jock Ewing
Quotes
-
Lucy Ewing : I told her to go home!
Sue Ellen Ewing : That tutor was highly recommended.
Lucy Ewing : [sees Jock and Miss Ellie just back from town] Hi, Grand-Daddy. Hi, Grandma.
Sue Ellen Ewing : [still complaining] She comes from a fine family. We were lucky to get her.
Jock Ewing : Wait a minute, wait... What's going on here?
Sue Ellen Ewing : Well, I hired a marvelous woman to help Lucy with her government studies.
Lucy Ewing : 'Marvelous woman'? She was about a hundred years old, and she spoke with a
[imitates:]
Lucy Ewing : whistle. She drove me bananas.
[Jock can't suppress laughter]
Sue Ellen Ewing : She's also very bright, and not a day older than I am.
Lucy Ewing : [filled with ridicule] Probably.
-
Bobby Ewing : She just went cold and I can't even talk to her.
J.R. Ewing : Well, it must come as quite a shock to find out your brother is a murderer.
Bobby Ewing : Charged with murder, J.R., not a murderer. There's a difference.
J.R. Ewing : Won't be after the trial.
Bobby Ewing : [puts down his glass and was surely about to go deck J.R. when Pamela enters] Pammy.
[goes towards her]
Bobby Ewing : Honey, how's Cliff?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Well, why don't you ask your brother?
Bobby Ewing : J.R.? What are you talking about?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : He's the reason Cliff's in jail.
J.R. Ewing : Cliff's in jail because he killed somebody.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [rushes at him] That's not true and you damn well know it, J.R.!
J.R. Ewing : I can understand you being upset, I really can.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : You framed him!
J.R. Ewing : Framed him?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : You had his phone tapped.
[causing Sue Ellen to pay heed]
J.R. Ewing : Now, that's a very serious accusation.
Bobby Ewing : Did you, J.R.?
J.R. Ewing : Tapping a phone's a crime, Bob.
Bobby Ewing : And that's not much of a denial. Now what were you afraid Cliff was gonna find out?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [furiously] He's afraid that Cliff's gonna find out that the Ewing empire is built on deceit and downright theft.
Jock Ewing : [in his usual gravelly voice] Now, that's enough of that, Pam.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : And he'd rather see Cliff dead than have the world see how really
[spits out the word:]
Pamela Barnes Ewing : rotten... the Ewings are.
