I'm running away from med school to the circus?

Warning: Spoilers
Mamie LaRue's grandson Ken is a medical student and she is pound enough to burst. He's spending some time visiting with her, but he's fallen in love with Estelle and wants to drop out, one year short of graduation and join the circus. Mamie is now horrified; he's making a mistake. Big Tim has an idea: Joey feels awful. Send for almost Dr. Tim. Tim easily solves the medical catastrophe; you can't even fool an almost doctor. When Estelle realizes she's the problem, she has her own plan. Stay or go, she doesn't care; she doesn't love him and has her own career. Now in funk, Ken doesn't know what to do, but he is leaving and still leaving medical school. Corky looks at him and says, when I am as big as you are, and as smart as you are I hope I'm not as dumb as you are.

Back at the circus, Estelle falls from her trapeze. She needs immediate medical care. Corky rides Bimbo to get Ken from the train station. He returns and examines Estelle but she has no feeling in her legs. He believes she has broken her back. He quickly has a corset placed around her which saves the back. Ken has learned his lesson: He's going back to medical school. When he's a doctor then he'll return for Estelle.

Highlight in this episode is seeing Jane Darwell as Mamie LaRue. Who? Asked my wife. A legend: Eliza Croft in Captain January; Mrs. Merriwether in Gone With the Wind; Ma Joad in The Grapes of Wrath, Eliza Kent in Brigham Young and 200 plus credits in film and TV. One can only hope these great actors aren't completely forgotten.
