This finishes off Season 4. Sam has been torn through this three part conclusion. So even before Diane goes after him at the press conference, he is ambivalent. Woody is the scene stealer here to go along with with the tenuous relationship with the councilwoman. She is a true politician (and later a Starship captain) and so it's hard to read her. There is a phone call at the very end and we must go to the next season to see what happens.

Diane comes to Cheers to confess to Sam that she was present during his and Councilors conversation but she has to hide again as they are coming together. The councilor says they need to make a decision about their relationship since she is a political figure. Diane comes to her press conference and makes a scene about it. Sam gets dumped after and at the end he calls somebody and proposes.
A great episode. Woody made me laugh a lot when he thinks that Diane has problems listening to Sam and when she even asks when he will go to the men's room.
And we have a good cliffhanger at the end. Whom did Sam call? I bet it as Diane of course!
