Another Battle

The guys decide to give Sam a bachelor party. They need someone to jump out of the cake and Woody talks Diane into doing it. This leads to big time consequences. Sam and Diane end up making a deal having to do with one last fling. It, of course, is disastrous.

One Last Fling (#5.18)

Warning: Spoilers
The guys are planning Sam's bachelor party and Woody asks Diane to be the girl that jumps out of a cake. Only when Sam sees the cake he gets all worried about the fact that Diane is his last woman for the rest of his life. Diane is mad about it and says they both have 24 hours for their last fling. But Sam is more jealous of Diane than wanting to have that fling.

Well I get the joke. To see how a guy gets over the fact that his wife will be the last woman he has and is more happy about it. But I just can't stand Diane in it. I can't stand that she agreed to be in the cake and ruin his bachelor party. I can't stand that she got mad over the normal worry. I can't stand that Sam was apologizing to her. And in return I also can't stand that he didn't want Diane to have her fun as well. They represent an annoying, stuck up, prudent couple to me. Marriage ruins characters on TV shows

A downright terrible episode that casts shade on the whole show.

Warning: Spoilers
I really like and enjoy this tv show. I like and respect all of the Cheers actors/actresses and I think that they really had something-special with this tv-series. That being said, some of the later episodes with the Diane character, like this-one,are maddening, annoying, and nearly unbearable. Knowing the character Sam Malone as we all do,it simply is not at-all believable that Mr. Malone would put-up with,or go-along with all of the nonsense and selfish behavior that Diane Chambers puts Sam and everyone-else through with the ridiculously drawn-out,on-again,off-again marriage plans.

Actress Shelly Long is obviously quite-talented,and I do really like her Diane Chambers character that she plays,almost-all of the time. Unfortunately, this episode isn't one of those times because this isn't one-of the better-written Cheers episodes,in my opinion.

The Diane character was,(at first) a sweetly-silly,charming and quirky lady that would easily catch the eye and interest of any man without her even-trying to. Unfortunately,Diane then proceeded to turn-into a neurotic,very-selfish and annoying person that any normal man would run-away from at top-speed !

There are possibly some aspects to this episode that might be considered somewhat-amusing,but overall I couldn't-help but be disgusted by the entire episode. 3/10, ridiculously bad.

See what you think about it and let us know !
