Nick being Nick
rbilotta-154372 March 2022
Carl's ex husband, Nick Tortelli, shows up at Cheers. His wife has left him, and he wants Carla back. He seems to really want her back. Meanwhile, Norm asks Sam about Coach (who's been away from Cheers for awhile). As he explains, the look on Ted Dansons face, and the sound of his voice, you can tell he was broken up about Nick Colasantos death. He would appear in 2 more episodes, filmed before his death.

If Ever I Would Leave You (#3.20)

Warning: Spoilers
Loretta leaves Nick and gets all his stuff. He comes to the bar to get Carla back, but she doesn't fall for it. He gets a job in the bar and keeps on trying. Everyone, even Diane, think she should give him a chance because he is trying really hard. When Loretta comes to the bar to ask him back, he refuses. But turns out that he thought it was just a test and when Carla tells him it wasn't he ends up leaving to Loretta again.

Well it is a very much a Nick episode, but surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I thought. They made him more likable for most of the episode even though we knew how it will end.

One Of The Better Nick Episodes
dgplatt-6012125 March 2024
Nick Tortelli is back, and he's hit rock bottom. His lovely bride Loretta has left him, and he's now begging Carla for a second chance. Is Nick sincere in his willingness to change, or is he just trying to con Carla into taking him back? Well, what do you think?

This is a good Bar Episode, with everyone getting a chance to interact with the comically sleazy Nick. Norm and Cliff have a funny moment when Nick threatens to burn himself with a match but chickens out ("there are rules to this?"). Diane is in Do Gooder mode, swayed by Nick's new commitment to "Miss Carla." Even Barfly Steve gets in a couple great lines. And, like Godzilla meeting Mothra, we have the worlds-colliding moment where Nick meets " someone with whom" he has "absolutely nothing in common," Dr Frasier Crane. This is a filler episode, but a good one.

Nick the Great
Hitchcoc17 August 2019
Nick Tortelli dominates this episode. He is fantastic, playing the sycophant in order to get Carla back after Loretta leaves him. She is terrific as well. She is vacuous in her delivery, but she also has some chops. Her delivery when she returns to the bar is great.
