Deceiving appearances
owlaurence13 May 2013
While not exceptional, this episode is very good, especially because it never goes where one would expect. Everything seems to hint that Phoebe has kept in touch with Cole and is secretly emailing him. So it is quite a surprise when her "old friend" turns out to be the sisters' father, who despite frequent mentions had not reappeared since season 1. Since he apparently is here to stay, the episode takes some necessary time to set old grudges to rest, and it manages that quite well. Not that Victor will ever be completely forgiven for abandoning his daughters, but it turns out it was not completely his fault --incidentally, from now on some of the flak he had been taking will be transferred to Grams.

Another great idea is that for once the demons are not the burly-looking man with the weird magical device, but the poor, innocent little children. This is an excellent twist, and the children are quite good in both parts. My only qualm is that, since the ice truck is supposed to attract only demons, Prue's obsession with it remains rather inexplicable (therefore the iceman's mistake is also quite justified).

Finally, I have to mention that after accidentally watching the episode twice in two days (replay channels will do that for you), I ended up spending a whole day with that stupid song stuck in my head!

The One With The Magical Ice Cream Truck...
taylorkingston22 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoy this episode. It's very fascinating. It's very unheard of. An evil ice cream truck. I mean, no one ever hears that, do they? This episode is very interesting and I love that it involves the return of the sisters' Father, Victor Bennet.

In this episode, Prue has a melody stuck in her head, which leads her to find an ice cream truck, that sucks children in and then sucks them up. She and Phoebe try to rescue the kids from the ice cream man and the Nothing, the thing that sucks them away. Once they do, they find out that the children aren't children, they're demons, who they've now released onto the world. After finding this out, Prue remembers that when she was a child, she tried to save a little boy, who was sucked in. The sisters get their Father, Victor, to help them with the ice cream truck and the demons, even though he doesn't have powers. They must get the truck to play the melody, to get the demons sucked back in, and they have to do it before anymore random ice cream truck drivers are killed by the evil children. Also, Piper is constantly being flirted with a man, who turns out, only wanted to know where the truck was, since he was the new ice cream man. Oh yeah, also, the ice cream man is mortal, that's why they needed Victor's help, since only a mortal can work the truck.

Fun Fact: This is the first time since Season 1, Episode 3, that the sisters' Father, Victor Bennet returns.

Fun Fact: Victor Bennet is played by a different actor from this episode forward. In my opinion, he's a better actor than the one from Season 1.

Overall, I give this episode a 9 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Amazing.

The Ice Cream Man and the Demon Children
claudio_carvalho15 April 2007
Prue has a melody in her head and when she sees a girl humming the tune, she finds that it belongs to the ice-cream truck. Prue and Phoebe follow the girl and the trio is sucked by a vortex inside the van. They find a playground in the middle of the snow and several children hiding from The Nothing. They rescue the children and once back in San Francisco, they realize that they are demon children. Meanwhile, their father Victor Bennett returns and helps his daughters to fix the situation, capturing the dangerous demons and sending them back to The Nothing.

"We All Scream for Ice Cream" is a very silly episode of "Charmed". The corny return of the father of the Halliwell sisters and the explanation for his absence are totally unreasonable and boring. My vote is five.

Who wants ice cream?

Warning: Spoilers
We all scream for ice cream seems like a silly kiddish episode. It does raise certain questions about normal and supernatural trucks. What happens if a mortal wanders in. I like the demonic kids were scary and it was nice to explore where they come from. A surprise visit connected to the plot was a great way to bring him back and bring the family together. I wish it was for a nice outing instead of circumstance.

I want to know more and alter a few scenes to make the subject matter mature. While the powers are cool it doesn't make up for a lacking plot. While some enjoy it, it wasn't for me. Better luck next time Charmed
