Hiding the Truth
claudio_carvalho13 July 2007
Phoebe has a strange sensation about Cole, and she casts a spell to know whether she should marry him or not, bringing unexpectedly an innocent Phoebe from her childhood and a bitter Phoebe from the future to help in her decision. Meanwhile, The Source is getting stronger and possessing Cole, who seems to be unable to resist much longer. The greedy demon Kurzon that wishes to assume the position of The Source is advised by the evil The Seer to kill the harmless young Phoebe and destroy The Power of Three. Paige has a personal gain with Carolyn case being promoted in her job, and she wants to fix the situation.

In this episode, Cole seems to be losing control of his human side, the powers of The Source are dominating him and he does not tell the truth to Phoebe. The evil and manipulative The Seer wants to stay with the Powers That Be, cheating and double-crossing the candidates. Paige now is more mature, and I did not like the haircut of the gorgeous Phoebe. My vote is seven.

The past is the future, the future the past lets welcome back...

Warning: Spoilers
The three faces of Phoebe concern her fears of marriage and castes a spell to seek a sign. What she got was a future self who never married and an idealistic younger self who dreams of her Prince coming to sweep her off her feet like Cinderella. I love the concept of getting your answers from two different time lines, but it conflicts with the mythology as Phoebe dies when her nephew turns fourteen so what alternate reality is she from and I could never see such a free spirit turn into a jaded hag. While younger Phoebe is a doll full of spunk and awakes her inner child fantasies of love which helps push her towards the altar.

Also this time around Cole can't seem to hold back the source stopping him from telling the girls about the possession of the source and his influence growing despite old Phoebe's warning it left them in disarray. It makes you wonder how the events first turned out since we know about The seer's plan and she goes through with the wedding. Despite the plot holes I found this to be a truly exceptional episode with deep questions to pander what lays ahead for our couple and can they avoid the same fate.
