Delightful Episode
claudio_carvalho22 April 2007
On the day of Piper's wedding, Prue is tired after successive nightmares. When a man is killed in a bar and Prue is the prime suspect, Phoebe casts a spell and finds that Prue's innermost desires released from her body through her astral projection looking for passion and freedom. T.J., the boyfriend of the astral projection of Prue, breaks in the house to rescue Prue from the police and spoiling the wedding. Cole and Leo find the criminal and Piper and Leo finally get married.

"Just Harried" is a delightful episode. The wedding of Piper, with three witches, a demon, a whitelighter, a ghost and a dead woman is cool. The excellent cynical character of Cole has given another dynamics to this series. My vote is eight.

Add "something unexpected" to the list

Warning: Spoilers
Weirdly enough, considering that this is Piper's big day, the episode mostly revolves around Prue, who is once again off chasing after bad guys in order to escape her stifling reality (Mrs Hellfire, anyone?). The gradual realisation that her "dreams" are actually her astral double taking a walk on the wild side, is a really fun idea, and Phoebe's take on it rings quite true (it also shows how useful her studies are). Beyond that, the conflict involving the attempted murder wouldn't have much interest, if not for how it brings Cole into the fold --more or less. It is quite fascinating to watch him try to fit in even though his demonic nature always seeps through. Oh, and I love Leo's aside to Victor: as far as supernatural sons-in-law go, a Whitelighter is by far the lesser of two evils!

...and of course, I just have to say something about the wedding. Despite all the botched rehearsals there have been so far, it is very beautiful and touching, especially the scenes with Patty. Then seeing Piper's dream almost come true, then get completely wrecked by some random magical accident is both terrible and sadly emblematic of Piper's life so far. Still, the final "rush" wedding manages to be even more moving than the initial version, as it combines everything magical the extended Halliwell family has to offer.

Warning: Spoilers
Piper's big day finally approaches as she wants the perfect wedding. Feeling like she has is work Prue astral projects to live a carefree life until she's falsely accused of murder. The sets and music are beautiful. It features three of the best moments in the series Patty reveals she had a premonition of her wedding while pregnant with Phoebe saying how proud and how proud She is of them. The other is TJ crashing the wedding and taking off with Prue. The last is Patty and Victor acting as real parents, working through their main issues, to comfort and give advice to their daughter about never giving up.

I'm surprised TJ didn't see the ghosts or they haven't been exploded at all until the finale since there were many cocky demons attacking or appearing in public settings around mortals. Another is Prue wanting a normal life yet heads out on demon hints without caution. This makes the second time Whitelighters are mention as wearing robes and will be a trade mark with them and a color system indicating status level. It was the moment all shippers been waiting for and it delivers in strides. Accept an invitation to the wedding of a life time.

Season 3 is at its reaching point.

Warning: Spoilers
This season is packed with fillers. Some better than others, but they all rate the same. Six last episodes, including this one, are of those, but Just Harried is the one where Piper and Leo finally tied the knots. It's also the last good Prue centric episode, for the whole series. « We all scream for ice cream », brought back Victor and is when the girls finally let him back into their lives. « Blinded by the white lighter », showed how the white lighters world worked, and is worth a watch in that sense. « Wrestling with demons » however, was a way to thicken up the demons plot, only its true purpose obviously was to have Piper and Prue discover Phoebe's secret. And show the way each sisters reacted to the news, which made for honest interactions between them. While « Bride and Gloom » was a fun way to show what will happen, if the book of shadows was under the wrong hands. The good, the bad and the cursed, introduced us to Phoebe's new power (empathy). And showed what a great chemistry Doherty and McMahon shared onscreen. Which always makes me wonder if they weren't meant to be endgames, had Prue remained in the show... Just Harried, which was the perfect example of a good Charmed episode, done right, was filled with tear jerker moments, mystery and hysterical mini skits. And is one I usually rewatch with great pleasure. But the lighter tone the show assumed this season, to outweigh the darker aspects of its script, makes for cornier moments. And they missed a golden opportunity to have Luke Perry play Prue's love interest for the episode.
