good plot. how the CSI's handle the situation
dollydarwloo9 March 2007
Ryan getting Nailed is one of the good plots of this episode and the events that lead up to it and what happens after is also very good. What Horatio tells Rick is also important. It was really none of Rick's business. It is clear that he is out to get Horatio and Horatio knows this. the introduction of Marisol into this episode is also very important. Eric's reaction to Ryan's injury is a very powerful and moving force in the episode. His feeling of guilt is also a plus on his part. It makes him realize that no matter what he has going on in his life he has his job to do. offering to take Ryan home from the hospital is a plus on his part. Although I personally feel that Ryan is a little bit of an ambitious and not to understanding of other people's feelings.

Poor Ryan!

Warning: Spoilers
Tim Speedle's (greatly missed) issue was he lacked a huge sense of humour but he was a professional and a gentleman and got on very well with Eric Delko. Ryan Wolfe on the other hand, while professional and thorough, is a tad too full of himself and I hate the way he seems to always annoy Eric. The opening scene was horrifying, poor Ryan screaming with pain from the nail protruding from his eye... (ouch!) and Eric racing him to the hospital. Rivals or not, Eric came through for him in this episode. Ryan and Eric both had lessons to learn and we also got to meet another Delko- Marisol, Eric's sister who seemed to have health problems. The case was very interesting and the shocking discovery of the victim's (an insane and very unpleasant woman) plan made me think of one of Sherlock Holmes' cases- "The Problem of Thor Bridge". Avid Sherlock Holmes fans will know what I mean and probably would have noticed it too.

A Real Eye-Opener!

Wow, what a dramatic opening....maybe the most dramatic I've seen on a CSI show. The show opens with Eric Delko frantically driving the Hummer as CSI partner Ryan Wolfe is screaming in the passenger seat. He has nail stuck through his right eye! Delko is calling the ER and trying to get a clear path through the police so he can make it before Wolfe is damaged further.

For a long stretch after that is a flashback, where we begin with a woman who has died on a construction site after nails had been shot into her. The story - in a nutshell - is that this is one ugly divorce-type story where the murdered woman would not grant a divorce to her husband so that he and his new girlfriend could get married. Nobody in here is good; all of them are suspects, even the teen- aged boy. Even the victim was a nasty woman.

Who killed her and what happens to Wolfe makes this an intense and very good story.

Nailed by a nail gun, but driven to the hospital by a friend...
RavenMScott21 July 2007
This episode shows realistic gore and everything else, but nothing compares to the scene when Eric Delko, Ryan Wolfe's rival, drives him frantically to the hospital. Normally, a rival/enemy wouldn't do this, but, no one was there to help Ryan, and when he called for help, guess who was the first to respond? Someone he'd least expect: Eric Delko. This has to be my favorite episode out of the entire series, because it shows the true colors of everyone in it. Plus, it shows what happens when you tell someone the truth about why you're late, or why you had to give your shift to someone else. Enemies can last a second, but a friendship can last a life time.
