The Chocolate and the Eye Drops

When the notorious poker gambler Doyle 'Candyman' Pfeiffer drops dead on a poker table during a game, Grissom, Warrick and Capt. Brass investigate the crime scene. Dr. Albert 'Al' Robbins learns that Candyman was poisoned by lead and Grissom, Warrick, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate who might have poisoned him. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick investigate the case of the street racer Jace Felder that was found dead in the desert with a shot on the cheek. Dr. Robbins notes that his eardrum is missing and his boy smells gasoline and they suspect he was shot while racing.

"Revenge Is Best Served Cold" is a good episode of "CSI" that opens Season 3 of this great series. As usual, there are two segments, both with great resolutions of the cases. My vote is eight.

Good Season Opener

There are two cases. A professional gambler of high repute suddenly convulses at the card table and dies. There are numerous suspects and the gang deals with each of them. The second is about big time drag racing in the desert where a guy is shot in the head and his car is demolished. Both of these require some pretty cool analysis and that's the strength of the episode.
