Not Up to Par
Hitchcoc9 January 2021
This involves a guy whose throat is cut during a hockey scrum around the net. He has so many previous injuries that it's hard to tell the actual cause of death. It also is about Warrick and his potential hookup with a lounge singer (it turns out he is quite the piano player). The episode just doesn't have much of a spark. Too little forensic stuff which is what this show was about.

CSI:Crime Scene Investigation-Primum Non Nocere
Scarecrow-8824 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
A stockbroker who moonlights as a hockey player in a minor league team dies from what might could've been an opponent's skate blade across the carotid artery. The difficulty of proving who committed the murder is amplified because a pile of players were involved with the victim, Terry, on the bottom. Terry was a rabblerouser responsible for many of the players losing a lot of money on the stock market and practically everyone on the ice hated him. A female hockey player, Jane, was juggling two relationships, a romantic one with Tommy and a sexual one with Terry. Meanwhile, Warrick and Nick are on the case of a musician found dead in the room of a club, victim of a heroine overdose(investigation reveals that the addict had 91% of the pure China White in his system). Warrick may get too close to a possible suspect, an alluring singer named Lillie. Episode reveals Grissom's feelings for Sara(a comment about her beauty), Nick's tension with Warrick when he tells him to step away from Lillie, and that a contact lens could be the major clue to catch the dope dealer. A tooth(found in the Zamboni machine) and dirty toe nail(found in Jane's bed)are two evidentiary clues which might shed some light on who was responsible for Terry's murder. But a rare heart condition Terry had could also paint a completely different cause of death and murderer.

The Hockey Player and the Musician

When the ice hockey player Terry Rivers is wounded in the face by an opponent in an amateur competition, the doctor advises him to leave the game. However, Terry is sewn in the face by the doctor, take two pills and returns and dies in the bottom of a pile up. Grissom, Catherine and Sara investigates the case and soon they lean that Terry was a stock broker and wolf, having affairs with several women. Among them, the promiscuous player Jane Gallagher that becomes one of the suspects. Meanwhile, Warrick and Nick investigate the death of the saxophonist Stan Grevey, who died of OD in a casino. They meet the beautiful singer Lillie Ivers and Warrick has feelings on her. Their further investigation shows that the heroin used by Stan was 91% pure and cause of his death. They continue their investigation to find the supplier.

"Primum Non Nocere" is a reasonable episode of "CSI" with two storylines. Bothe are not engaging and the best part is the broken hearted Warrick ending his relationship with Lillie. Nick shows that he is a great friend of Warrick. My vote is seven.
