Quotes

  • [last lines]

    Willow Rosenberg : Personal question?

    Xander Harris : Yeah, shoot.

Willow Rosenberg : When Buffy was a vampire, you weren't still, like, attracted to her, were you?

Xander Harris : Willow, how can you... I mean, that's really *bent*. She was... grotesque.

Willow Rosenberg : Still dug her, huh?

Xander Harris : I'm sick. I need help.

    Willow Rosenberg : Don't I know it.

  • Xander Harris : Well, it'll be faster if we split up to look for her.

    Rupert Giles : Good idea.

[Xander and Giles go in opposite directions leaving Willow standing there alone]

Willow Rosenberg : Uh-uh, faster, but not really safer.

  • Xander Harris : Red alert. Where's Buffy?

Rupert Giles : She - she just stepped out. Her - her father came by. He - he needed to talk to her...

    [looking at Xander's outfit]

Rupert Giles : Whe- where are your other clothes?

Xander Harris : Oh, don't I wish I had the answer to that question.

Willow Rosenberg : Xander kind of found himself in front of our class not wearing much of anything.

Xander Harris : Except my underwear.

Willow Rosenberg : [enthusiastically]  Yeah, it was really...

    [see Xander glaring at her]

Willow Rosenberg : bad. It was a bad thing.

Xander Harris : "Bad thing"? I was naked. "Bad thing" doesn't cover it.

Willow Rosenberg : Everybody staring. I would hate to have everyone paying attention to *me* like that.

Xander Harris : With nudity! It's a total nightmare.

Willow Rosenberg : Well, yeah, Xander. It - it's your nightmare.

Xander Harris : Except the part with me waking up going, "It's all a dream." It happened.

Willow Rosenberg : Like it happened to Wendell. That thing with the spiders. Wendell had a recurring dream about that.

    Rupert Giles : I - I - I dreamt that I - I got lost in the stacks, and I... I couldn't read... Of course!

Xander Harris : Um, our dreams are coming true.

Rupert Giles : Dreams? That would be the musical comedy version of this. Nightmares. Our - our nightmares are coming true.

  • Wendell : [about his spiders]  I had the best collection in the tri-county area. I has browns and tarantulas and black widows... Then my folks ship me off to Wilderness Camp. All my brother had to do was maintain the habitats. Instead, he left the heat lamp on for a *week*. When I came home, they were all dead. That's when the nightmares started.

    Willow Rosenberg : The nightmares?

Wendell : It's always the same. I'm sitting in classroom. The teacher asks me to read something. I open up my book, and there they are... They're coming after me... God, can you blame them after what I did?

Xander Harris : That's how it happens, every time?

Wendell : Yesterday in class, I thought I had just nodded off again... but then everyone else started screaming too.

  • Buffy Summers : [emerging from the grave]  Thought I was dead.

Willow Rosenberg : Buffy, your face.

Buffy Summers : [feeling the transformation]  Oh, God...

    Xander Harris : Buffy.

Buffy Summers : Don't look at me!

Rupert Giles : [softly]  You never told me you dreamt of becoming a vampire.

    Buffy Summers : This isn't a dream.

Rupert Giles : No. No, it's not. But there's a chance that we can make it go away. This all comes from Billy. Now, if-if we can only wake him up, I believe that the nightmares will stop and reality will shift back into place. But we must do it now. I need you to hold together long enough to help us. Can you do that?

Buffy Summers : Yeah. I think I can.

    Rupert Giles : Thank you.

Buffy Summers : Well, we'd better hurry... 'cause I'm getting hungry.

  • Willow Rosenberg : Why is she so Evita-like?

Buffy Summers : I think it's the hair.

Willow Rosenberg : It weighs heavy on the cerebral cortex.

  • Willow Rosenberg : [re her dislike of spiders]  Their furry bodies and their sticky website and... What do they need all those legs for anyway? I'll tell you! For crawling across your face in the middle of the night, uuggh!
