- Roxanne Trent: It's been three years since Wilma Deering tried to destroy us! *Three* years. And I dream of that cabin fire almost every night.
- Roxanne Trent: [glancing at her artificial hand, a result of the incident three years earlier] The flames, the heat, the pain.
- Commander Corliss: [kissing his wife's artificial hand] As do I. We're going to pay them back.
- [Corliss and Roxanne observe hanger crew unloading large artillery-type shells from a freighter, each marked with ancient US military insignia and indentifying marks as chemical weaponry]
- Commander Corliss: Soon all on Earth will be destroyed.
- [unnoticed by Corliss and Roxanne, also observing the unloading of chemical rounds is Roxanne's deaf-mute servant girl Alicia, whose eyes widen noticeably as she recognizes danger from the mysterious canisters]
- Major Noah Cooper: [after guiding the squad through the asteroids] Okay, people, start breathing again.
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: [spotting enemy fighters on his scanner screen] Stop breathing, we've got company!
- [Buck picks up a squad support machine gun from the table]
- Commander Corliss: You fool! That's an ancient signaling device!
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: [fires a burst into the floor in front of Corliss] Get the message?
- Commander Corliss: Have you ever been in a fire, Rogers, or should I say have you ever been ON fire?
- Buck Rogers: No, I can't say I have.
- Harriet Twain: We're out of time, Noah. We've got to attack now.
- [Noah hesitates. He knows that bombing Corliss' base may get Wilma and Buck killed]
- Eli Twain: Maybe Dizzy Dee was right. You shouldn't have taken this assignment.
- Harriet Twain: Yeah, maybe you're too old and too scared to do the job any more.
- Noah Cooper: Dammit, you all love her too!
- Corporal M.K. Schultz: Of course we do, Noah!
- 'Big Red' McMurphey: Yeah, but we got a job to do.
- Noah Cooper: We're going down. We'll wait till the PC's are up full. You follow me in, Big Red.
- [Roxanne Trent's mute servant, Alicia, is viewing a memory globe image of herself with her mother and father. Roxanne enters the room]
- Roxanne Trent: What are you doing, Alicia?
- [Alicia quickly hides the memory globe]
- Roxanne Trent: Your mind is always off elsewhere. Five years I've owned you, and you're always seem to be dreaming with your eyes wide open. If the market for Terran servants wasn't so depressed, I'd sell you in an instant. Well, don't just stand there, brush!
- [Alicia brushes Roxanne's hair. As Roxanne tries to open a perfume bottle, she drops it, revealing her right hand to be a crude metallic appendage that causes her pain. She then notices Alicia staring at the metallic hand]
- Roxanne Trent: [ominously] You were smiling.
- [Alicia shakes her head no, but enraged Roxanne brutally grabs her left wrist]
- Roxanne Trent: You think I'm hideous! You think you're better than me because you have two normal hands. Well, I can rectify that!
- [Roxanne starts squeezing the mute girl's wrist with her artificial hand. Alicia winces her face in pain. Fortunately, a call for Roxanne in the intercom distracts her, so she lets go of Alicia's hand]
- [with Alicia'a help, Buck and Wilma have escaped from their detention cell]
- Buck Rogers: [pointing a gun at the guards] Alright gentlemen, into the cell, if you please.
- [the guards enter the cell, then Buck removes the key to reactivate the force field, before turning to Alicia]
- Buck Rogers: Thank you.
- [turns to Wilma]
- Buck Rogers: Well, Wilma, what do you think?
- Col. Wilma Deering: I think they should strip!
- Buck Rogers: Wilma!
- [turning to the guards]
- Buck Rogers: You heard what the lady said!
- Major Noah Cooper: [smiles] I don't like parties, and I don't like presents, and most of all I don't like being reminded of how old I am. But, thanks. Thank you.
- [Dr. Huer tells Buck about Noah Cooper]
- Dr. Elias Huer: Colonel Deering's father flew with Noah's Earth Space Marine Squadron, and Noah was her first flight instructor. He was very helpful to her in the early stages of her career. Helped to develop her. They formed a very deep bond of friendship. And then the squadron got old; Noah got old. Last year she had to give them their annual physical fitness test, and she had to fail them, all of them, including Noah.
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: It's not gonna be easy, is it?
- Col. Wilma Deering: Noah's just too old to go into space again.
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: [shakes his head in disdain] Even in the 25th century, they still throw people on the scrap heap because of their age.
- Col. Wilma Deering: Buck, I didn't want to ground him. It's just that he wasn't - he wasn't capable anymore, and I didn't want to see him get hurt.
- [Noah approaches Buck and Wilma]
- Major Noah Cooper: Wilma Deering!
- Col. Wilma Deering: [smiles] Hi, Noah.
- Major Noah Cooper: What, no hug? Since when did you greet me without a hug?
- [Noah hugs Wilma]
- Major Noah Cooper: No matter what's happened, I still love you, Dizzy Dee. Remember that.
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: "Dizzy Dee"?
- Major Noah Cooper: Oh, hi. Name's Noah, as in Noah Cooper.
- [Buck and Noah shake hands]
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: Hi. Name's Buck, as in Buck Rogers.
- Major Noah Cooper: Buck.
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: "Dizzy Dee"?
- Major Noah Cooper: Oh, we've called her that since she was this high.
- [gestures child-size]
- Major Noah Cooper: Used to hang around the ready room, get into everything. Drove us dizzy.
- [Wilma chuckles, slightly embarrassed]
- Major Noah Cooper: So we called her "Dizzy Deering", "Dizzy Dee" for short. Now she's all grown up: Old enough to take a man's Silver Eagles away from him.
- Col. Wilma Deering: [to the squadron members] You're all almost mandatory retirement age.
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: They don't look a day over sixty.
- Col. Wilma Deering: Retirement is eighty-five.
- Capt. William "Buck" Rogers: Eighty-five?
