This is the episode I remember above all others. I feel like certain people should be forced to watch.

THE EXACT WORDS EPISODE... OMG.
tcchelsey26 November 2023
This famous episode, written by Elroy Schwartz, is sooo relatable...

I totally agree with the last reviewer Bobby gets Greg in trouble DEEP... but it was more bragging on what a cool driver he was. The folks don't agree.

Considering the Bradys are supposed to live in the Valley, around North Hollywood or Studio City, that would mean he was speeding on the 101 freeway --which is extremely dangerous. Not good.

Mike is really mad and Greg is grounded. Period.... Although comes the famous or infamous "exact words" clause in the arguement, which Greg has to live by? Pure genius or what?

And he does pay a BIG price, however clever, it gets him enough time to still be able to date gal pal Rachel (played by Sherwood Schwartz's daughter Hope). Hope was a very good actress, with a sense of humor, as you will see.

In the meantime, and the BEST part, is the school frog jumping contest. This actually may have caught fire across the country, as I remember at my junior high at the time this episode came out -- we also had a frog jumping contest. And we had a blast.

Note the cool Chevy Impala convertible (Mike's car) which Greg is driving. Paramount dumped Dodge for Chevy at the time, and that was a beautiful car in its day. Elroy Schwartz wrote this one. Elroy also wrote for FAMILY AFFAIR, MY THREE SONS and GILLIGAN'S ISLAND.

Do NOT miss the classic ending with gooey frog pizza?

The defined Murphys Law story. From SEASON 4 remastered color Paramount/ABC dvd box set.

Bobby Blabs? Bobby Sends Greg Up The River Is More Like It!
richard.fuller114 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Memorable episode for Greg's usage of Mike's 'exact words', tho even that has a hiccup. Greg argued in favor of what were Mike's exact words and then Greg was the one held to his exact words. He didn't say he was good at his word usage, it was Mike as the parent who was supposed to know what he was talking about.

Still, it made for a classic Brady plot line.

However, maybe I just now paid attention or the episode was edited up considerably when I watched it before, but in the opening, Greg brings Bobby home from getting his frogs and what does Bobby do? "Greg was driving like a fool! Greg was a maniac behind the steering wheel! I was so scared! You should have been there, mom and dad! Little old ladies and schoolchildren were running away from the car!" Hey, Bobby, he did you a favor and said he would do you another one, then you execute him like this? Good going, kid brother.

Perhaps also memorable for Mike Brady's serious hostility, rarely seen on the show. "You're forbidden to use the car for a week, Greg. Wanna try for three?" This is about the closest hint we get to a promise of a fistfight between Mike and Greg had the show continued for a sixth season.

Definite potential.
