Great Episode

Warning: Spoilers
This is an amazing episode for what it does for Eric's character development and is the first of many episodes where we see that there is a lot more to Eric than we see on the surface. It is also the beginning of Feeny and Eric's mentor and mentee relationship that becomes a friendship. This episode is also the first instance where we meet a member of Shawn's family as up to this point the Hunter's have only been mentioned in passing by Shawn or other characters. Even in the first season we never actually saw Shawn's parents. In this episode we meet Uncle Mike a giant of a man who runs a motorcycle repair shop where Shawn also seems to be helping out. We meet him when Turner brings his bike to the shop to be repaired and while he is very intimidating Shawn seems to be able to chastise him and persuade him to keep his word on things. Mike seems to genuinely care about Shawn and we meet him even before we meet Shawn's father who basically comes and goes in the same episode because we meet him in "Career Day" and by the end of that episode he has abandoned Shawn to go search for Virna who had not only abandoned her own son but she took their home with her leaving her fifteen year old homeless with someone she knew wasn't good at taking responsibility for others. My problem here is that after Chet leaves it seems like while Shawn's entire extended family is aware of the situation and despite how much this episode seemed to imply Mike cared about Shawn not a single member of the Hunter family stepped forward to help Shawn in his time of need. Instead that responsibility was forced on the Matthews than taken over by Turner when he had Shawn come live with him. So despite the fact that Shawn has a large extended biological family none of them seem to care what happens to him whereas The Matthews, Turner, and even Feeny all seem to deeply care about what all of this abandonment and neglect is doing to Shawn and they all want to be there for him.

Finally Eric is getting some real light

Warning: Spoilers
Finally we got an episode with Eric being more than a comic relief. I mean, he has too much potentiel and consistency to just be assigned to that. Here, we saw him struggling with insecurity of his "lack" of school abilities. It's totally believable and still hard to see him considering himself as not enough or unable to succeed having good grades by his own but cheating. He's way far to be dum and let's just say the kind of girl like that one are just toxic person : reducing people to simple attractive objects and demeaning their real potential is pathetic. She's just a floozy dum without any piece of brain to make him think there's no other way out for him than cheating. She's supposed to be a mentor and could have helped him discoveri a more suitable way for him to study better, as nobody learn the same way, and give him some confident to himself which is basically the main key of success instead of making worst than spit in his face making him feel as a failure who doesn't deserve any credit for the matters. We generally see that kind of issue in the other way with some stupid guys reducing subjectively attractive girls to just been worth by their looks. It's a really good move of the show to make it at the opposite knowing that there's as much idiot guys than stupid girls giving themselves the right to undermine someone's intelligence, lot of dummies spreading out there. Shawn and his uncle dynamite was fun to watch, we finally see some of his relatives and his uncle really seems to care about him, he indeed is not the regular random guy you could meet on the street beginning by his amazing height but still that was really interested to finally meet some of this uncles Shawn didn't stop to tease us through the entire season, it was about time. In the end, you have to make Cory sick to have my to favorites having some spot, kind of a pity if you ask me.
