A typically Bottom style Halloween
snoozejonc14 October 2020
Richie and Eddie go trick or treating and have a Halloween party.

This is a strong episode with Richie's mad enthusiasm for Halloween and devil worshipping providing a number of funny situations.

It has some excellent banter between the two central characters and the welcome appearance of Spudgun and Dave Hedgehog only makes the dynamic better as we then have three foils for Richie's madness.

Rik Mayall dominates this episode, but does so with his usual energy and comic timing. It must have been quite tough to keep thinking of ways to humiliate the character but this one does it mercilessly.

I might sound a bit picky, but I think this one slightly overdoes the toilet humour. When these visual gags come they are good but towards the end I was finding it a bit tiresome.

Not As Good As The Season Opener

This episode was not a patch on the brilliant season opener, but it still has more than a few funny moments.

Plot In A Paragraph: It is Halloween. After losing the "Spot the Balls" competition to Terry Venebales (Again!!) and being visited by trick or treaters, Richie and Eddie decide to put on their own Halloween party, where they go off trick or treating. Richie is dressed up as a devil and Eddie is dressed up as a banana, armed with an electric cattle prod, they go to get some money for beer. When Richie and Eddie invite Spudgun and Hedgehog back to the flat, as long as they provide their own beer money!! Richie decides to raise the Devil so he can have sex with girls, in exchange for his soul.

Rik Myall and Ade Edmondson are a duo that can always make me smile, and this episode is no exception
